This needs to be communicated to the operators as well as the chemists responsible for process development. Without communication the importance of these issues may always be underestimated. Instead, the vast majority of engineers just open their mouths and ask questions about geometric similarities and reaction conditions. Good experimental design requires a thorough understanding of stirring mechanisms in order to obtain useful results. Engineers who do not understand the stirring mechanism may just be taking a risk.
